2022 Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Deep purple, beautifully rich redcurrant and plum on the nose, full and ripe but lower in alcohol then we typically see courtesy of the cool season. Firm tannin that will keep this wine improving for many years.

Technical Tasting Notes

2022 Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Our Cabernet was sourced from the Schulz Primrose Vineyard in Ebenezer in the Northern Barossa Valley. Handpicked, hand sorted, de-stemmed, and open fermented prior to being matured for 16 months in a blend of new and second use French oak.

Deep bright red tinged with purple. Fruit driven, plummy red current fruit supported by powerful Barossa Tannins and natural acidity. This is absolutely classic cabernet from the cool and exceptional 2022 harvest. The wine is drinking beautifully now but will improve for many years.

2021 Barossa Valley CAbernet Sauvignon

QWine (www.qwinereviews.com)

92 Points - A blend of two Barossa Cabernet vineyards, one at each end of the valley. Although it took a little time to get going, it showed some great form in the end.

The fruit was sourced from the Fromm vineyard in the south and the Primrose vineyard in the north. The result is a wine that benefits from some time in the glass. Over a few days of tasting, this continued to grow on me. Quite leafy early on and showing handfuls of cut green herbs, blackcurrants and blackberries slide in with some dark chocolate. Red peppers and barbecued capsicum add detail. Initially, it was firm to taste but those tannins softened and opened up beautifully. Give it a decant or some time tucked away and you will be rewarded.
