Block 15 is a special block farmed by Marcus Schulz personally for more than 70 years. Dense powerful black and blue fruits dominate the nose, new french oak plays its part, but the fruit dominates. the full bodied pallet is long, dense and supported by tannins that will carry this wine in the decades to come.

2022 Block 15 Shiraz
GROWING SEASON
The 2022 Barossa Valley vintage will be remembered as the second almost faultless season in a row after an equally impressive although different 2021 vintage. Both Vintages were cool, the coolest since 2002. Good spring rains meant that we entered the growing season with good soil moisture levels. A warm dry growing season followed, with balanced and healthy canopies producing an average crop of extremely high quality fruit.
A pigeon pair, perhaps the best two since 1990/1991 if not longer. The good news is that flavours and colours (in reds) and the vibrancy and lift in the whites are incredible. Overall quality is exceptional. Another extremely good Barossa vintage in the making..

97 Points - This is an exceptional wine. I'm not sure I like it necessarily more than its Stone Well sibling, but...among the very best of the region. An apotheosis of latent power, salacious fruit, oak and welcome restraint thanks to the tannic kit. The tannic definition, again, the hallmark of the address. The oak is generous, yet nothing that this capacious wine shan't swallow in time. Bitter licorice pastille, biltong, molten dark fruit, licorella, kirsch and violet. As tempting as this is now, I'd bury it. Best after 2026.
