auctions are fun but can be expensive

After a busy few weeks in the winery you are always looking for something to do that breaks up the daily grind, this comes in many forms including auctions it would seem. A local winery without a next generation closed down and their stock, tanks, fermenters, bottling lines, presses, office equipment, lab equipment and one Gnome as it would turn out were up for grabs.

Come inspection day we identified a few lots that would be very helpful for the winery should they not go for too much money. Looked good. Like all auctions there was some items that were worn out or not of use to us but still worth keeping an eye on come auction day.

Auction DAY

Item 1: Henry, old Gnome. Winner, Brett Hayes, Hayes Family Wines. A bargin at $60

Other Items, too much money. We gave them a miss.

time for henry to come home

So off Andrew and I went for a drive Truro to collect our valuable prizes (Kylie refers to them as purchases but I like to think they are prizes). Henry was collected, taken home and planted at the front entrance. You cannot miss him

CLEARLY A LONG LOST RELATIVE

As vintage for Marcus Schulz had now finished and he was winding down he regularly dropped in for a coffee. He has taken Little Marcus under his wing. Similar stature, as well as many other characteristics. I think Ros is thinking it might be a direct swap.

So Little Marcus it is!

OUR INSTRAGRAM SPOT

So Hayes Family Wines now has an Instagram spot. If you are in cellar door, visiting the winery or looking for that perfect Instagram shot be sure to drop in. Little Marcus would love to see you
