Barossa Vintage Festival 2023

Bi-annual Barossa Event not to be missed!

For 75 years, the Barossa have been celebrating vintage with the Barossa Vintage Festival. Town Days, Parades, Dinners, Lunches and Tastings over 5 days celebrating what makes the Barossa so special. And this year, 2023 is not just a vintage festival year, but a celebration of the 75th Anniversary. Given the history and what locals have been through, it’s an event that is definitely worth celebrating.

What are We doing?

2021 Shiraz and Grenache Vertical Tasting @ HFWs

We love a community event, particularly one where everyone across the valley gets involved. We will be open 5 days a week during Vintage, and during the festival we have put on an event to allow visitors to sample horizontal lineups of 6 Grenache and/or 6 Shiraz from the wonderful 2021 vintage. Members can of course try for free. Details can be found here.

Some of our Favourites

Vintage Festival is packed full of wine, food and art and culture. The town days are great, so pick a couple and enjoy the festivities. The range of events available is incredible, there are sure to be activities for everyone. But here are a few that we will be attending

Discover the Vines behind the Wines Join sixth-generation and current custodian of the Hoffmann Vineyard, Adrian Hoffmann, as he walks you through a tasting of wines from our Northern Barossa vineyards, including the  Dallwitz, Mickan and Becker blocks. The line-up includes offerings from Barossa winemakers including Chris Ringland, Sami Odi, Hayes Family Vineyards, Glaetzer and others to be revealed on the day.

Meat and Two Barrels A Saturday night feast at the barn. Taste a snapshot of the 2023 vintage from barrel, Hills vs Barossa! Then settle in for a night of superb cuisine from Chef Daniel Murphy of Fino complete with wines new and old, large and small.

Ziegenmarkt Step back in time to a bygone era and get lost in this bustling live market atmosphere. Literally meaning ‘goat market’, Ziegenmarkt first appeared in Tanunda during the mid-1800s and is brought back to life every two years for the Vintage Festival. Immerse yourself in the heritage of Barossa’s old-world live auction; bid on fresh produce, preserves, pickles and smallgoods; taste the local fare and soak up the excitement and atmosphere of Ziegenmarkt.

Barossa Wine Auction An integral part of the Barossa Vintage Festival since 1965, the Barossa Wine Auction has now grown to become Australia’s premier regional wine auction.

This event brings you an exclusive opportunity to access rare and coveted wines. Provenance is assured, with wines sourced directly from the winery and winemaker’s owned collections.
